Yes, you’ll still see members of the Old Guard noshing at the Palm, but the new game in town is at the sleeker, more intimate Capital Grille, where, as one local player puts it, “You don’t have to have your caricature on the wall to belong.” Look for the Mayor presiding over grilled salmon and diet Cokes (he saves the chardonnay for happy hour), Wachovia prez Hugh Long talking numbers as he downs a filet-topped Caesar, and indicted State Senator Vince Fumo, who of course has his own booth, where, we hear, he’s laying off the red meat post-heart-attack in favor of the grilled chicken.
