Terrain at Styer’s

If you have to ask, you haven’t been paying attention to the buzz: Urban Outfitters’ massive makeover of DelCo’s stalwart J. Franklin Styer has, within a mere 11 acres, revolutionized — or, some might say, Anthropologie-ized — the garden-store concept. Terrain sells impatiens out of antique wooden carts. Terrain displays hard-cover garden books in lush greenhouses. Terrain stocks chic-ly packaged, eco-friendly seeds, fertilizers and pest control products, and displays its understatedly elegant — never precious — patio furniture outdoors. And its landscaping division is promising the same Styer’s-esque attention to service. It might be the best in the country.
