Owner Steve Mountain calls his Summit Sports Training Centers “learning schools” for athletes. That his students range from ’tweens and teens of varying skills to the Sixers is a testament to just how good a teacher this guy is. He focuses not on the winning, but on creating more focused, balanced athletes. Whether your kid wants a shot at being an All-American or just to finally make the team, Mountain and staff train him — literally — with the pros, in small groups where everyone works on the same skills (with age-appropriate adjustments). The third and newest outpost in Villanova is the best of the bunch, packed with state-of-the-art equipment (hockey treadmills!), but you’ll still be most impressed by the change you’ll see in your kid’s skills — and in your kid.
