First Person Story Slams at L’Etage

Maybe we’re just too old for Quizzo and Bob and Barbara’s Drunken Spelling Bee. Lately we’ve been liking the monthly First Person Story Slams at L’Etage. Audience members from all age brackets and backgrounds sign up to tell five-minute true stories — some hilarious, some tearjerker — about their lives that are in line with the night’s theme, announced ahead of time. (The August 26th theme is “Worst Ever.”)Judges score for content and presentation, and the winner gets bragging rights and the chance to compete in November’s Story Slam Championship.
