Mahogany

We love the smoking ban. But even smokers deserve a comfortable bar where they can indulge. Places like McGlinchey’s and Ray’s have been granted exemptions, though future Rendellian actions could purge these wonderful dives of the right to light up. Not so ­ Mahogany, the dark-wood-paneled-and-leather-couch-filled bar above Holt’s cigar shop. Thanks to legal loopholes, cigar bars like Mahogany will be a refuge for pipe, cigarette and cigar smokers in perpetuity. Mahogany has a well-stocked (and expensive) bar and a knowledgeable staff always ready with a lighter, a cigar-wine pairing suggestion, or worthwhile conversation.
