Chris’ Jazz Café, a 21-year-old jazz joint on a decrepit Sansom Street block, offers an impressive mix of local legends like Bootsie Barnes (below), Pat Martino and Jimmy Bruno as well as touring shows such as the Count Basie Orchestra and Kurt Rosenwinkel, in a relaxed but attentive setting with good eats and a just-rehabbed stage and sound system.
