Big Blue Marble

Like so much of Mount Airy, Big Blue Marble is well thought-out, community-oriented, and full of unexpected delights. In the kids’ section, you’ll find local authors and socially conscious works mixed in with purely fun and popular reads, but none of the pop culture or Disney tie-ins that clutter up a shelf. The shop’s real selling point, though, is its schedule of regular author readings, staff-led storytime, family jazz concerts and other kids’ events every month. Last spring, it also hosted its first annual kids’ literary festival.
