The region has long been known for its craft beers. Now a hand-hammered copper-pot still has put Philadelphia on the craft spirits map. Philadelphia Distilling in the Northeast produces Bluecoat, a small-batch gin succulent with citrus riffs while juniper stands back on bass. Its only one in a mini-boom of locally created spirits: Though made in Mexico, complex Siembra Azul tequila gets local cred as the brainchild of a Philly restaurateur, David Suro of Los Catrines/Tequilas, and Dogfish Heads Rehoboth brewpub produces irreverent Rhum, Jin and Ta-Kee-La. If the trend continues, well be able to stock a full bar.
