Best of Philly 2004 Rum
Cuba Libre
|
The drink that made Ernest Hemingway write so damn well is served up in style at Cuba Libre, which stocks nearly 100 rums for your drinking pleasure. (Alma de Cuba and Cibucan don't even come close.) This place makes one of the best classic mojitos, but do try the Sandito variation, made with fresh watermelon juice, or a Caballito, "the Cuban Manhattan," with dark rum instead of whiskey. If you want something reminiscent of an expensive cognac, the 15-year-old Barbancourt Estate Reserve from Haiti will work its voodoo on you.
