First, the city saw a boom of BYOBs, neighborhood restaurants with ambitious food but no liquor licenses — and no liquor markups. Now, to compete with those BYOBs, restaurants with wine lists are embracing the bring-your-own trend. Tote a bottle — without a corkage fee — at Wine Spectator-honored Davio's (Fridays); Seafood Unlimited (Wednesdays); The Gables at Chadds Ford and Turk's Head Inn (Sunday through Thursday); and Queen Village's Tartine (daily). Even Georges Perrier is on board: Le Mas is BYOB on Sunday nights.
