Goofy cocktails have always been part of the Stephen Starr formula, but at El Vez, he got them right. It's not as vast a showing as the Continental's, but instead a compact list whose names are more embarrassing than the concoctions themselves. The Cuchi-Cuchi riffs on the piña colada, with Bacardi, pineapple puree, coconut milk and "a hint of spice." The Mexipolitan takes the vodka out of a cosmo and puts in tequila instead.
