Longstreth Sporting Goods

A quarter-century ago, Beaver College grad Barbara Longstreth began selling field-hockey sticks out of the back of her car. Today, that minor-league enterprise has become a barn of a store dedicated exclusively to female athletes and supplying clothing and equipment for hockey, lacrosse, softball, basketball, tennis and more. The staff knows its stuff, the mini-field for trying hockey sticks is fab, and the idea of a sports store just for girls makes us giggle with glee (28 Wells Road, Parker Ford; 800-545-1329).
