Chic Petique

Ten-month-old Chic Petique stands out from the pet-shop pack in more ways than one. For starters, its more Saks than PETCO, with faux-pearl collars and leads, doggie ponchos with cute sushi designs, camo dog and cat coats, even plush bathrobes for your canines and felines. And you wont find all-natural, human-grade pet food or supplements like Dream Coat, which almost completely eliminates shedding, on the shelves of your local supermarket. Chic Petique also looks more like Knit Wit than like a typical pet shop--designer toys, food bowls and other pet accoutrements are displayed neatly on shelves and countertops and in galvanized bins. Owner Lindsay Condefer's three bulldogs are regulars, as is Henry, her potbelly pig.
