Standard Tap
Best of Philly 2002 Bar Food
Northern Liberties' Standard Tap screams neighborhood bar: it's dark, and it has a nice selection of beer on tap, a jukebox cranked to ear-splitting volume, and enough secondhand smoke to scare the guys in the cigar lounge at Holt's. The menu, though, crafted by ex-Fishmarket chef Carolynn Angle, takes bar food to new heights; no greasy wings here. Where else can you eat perfectly fried smelts with a garlicky rémoulade or a moist pork sandwich with fennel jus while slamming back a Yards ESA during a game of darts?
