Best of Philly 2010: Best Coach
Peter Laviolette
|
The Time-Out is when we really knew. Game seven against Boston. Flyers down, three goals to none in the first period, their Stanley Cup dreams fading fast. Laviolette pulls the chewing gum from his mouth and calls a time-out. “We just need one goal before the end of the period,” he barked at the team. And that’s what they gave him: one goal, followed by three more to complete a historic comeback and prolong the most improbable championship campaign in Philadelphia sports history.
