SKATER-CISE Just because the holidays are over, doesn’t mean that winter activities cease! Go for a glide around Dillworth Park‘s Rothman Ice Rink on Wednesday, January 3, for a skate session with a twist: the hour-long session will be filled with trainers leading an on-ice workout. Skater-cise is a part of a weekly series, happening every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Rothman Ice Rink (1 South 15th Street AKA the west side of City Hall). It’s free to workout, but standard admission and skate rental fees —which are typically about $15 per person — apply. $15, 6 to 7 p.m.

RICHARD SIMMONS WORKOUT Maha Yoga is alllll about the fun weekend workouts. We told you about their Jane Fonda workout in November, and this month they’re upping their 80’s-dance- party-workout ante with a Richard Simmons– inspired workout. Swing by their Rittenhouse studio (1700 Sansom Street, 6th floor) for an epic cardio, dance, and fun-filled workout. FREE(ISH) ROCK N’ RUN By now, I’m sure you’re quite familiar with the regular group runs that start of at Philly’s local running hub — Philadelphia Runner. Well, they’re kicking off 2018 with a bang by putting together a cross-training run of sorts, dubbed the Rock N’ Run. It all starts off as Philadelphia Runner group runs usually do, you’ll meet at their Center City outpost (1601 Sansom Street) a 6:45 p.m. for check-in before the 2.5-mile (ish) run to Northern Liberties Go Vertical climbing gym. That’s where the cross-training part kicks in. The tentative plan is to climb or boulder for an hour or two and then conclude the night at a local bar. It’s free to run, but the cost of climbing, gear rentals, and post-workout drinks will fall on you. Run starts at 7 p.m.
