You Can Spin, Box, and Take TRX Classes at This New Boutique Gym

We love boutique gyms — the branding is always on point, they’ve picked one type of workout to excel at, and the amenities are always fancy. But we also know this to be true: You’re not supposed to do the same exercise over and over and over again.

That’s why we’re excited that some gyms (like BPM Fitness on Spring Garden Street) are taking boutique fitness to the next level by offering multiple types of workouts under one roof. One such gym is the recently opened REVive Studio in Chester County, where you can try spin, TRX, and boxing classes, as well as combinations of the three.

At REVive Studio, all of the classes are rhythm-based. Meaning: You will move your body with the music in their 45-minute “base” classes (either TRX or spin or boxing) or 60-minute “fusion” classes (combo classes of spin and TRX, spin and box, or all three).

So how did the founders — a trio of women — decide to combine these three very different types of workouts into their gym? According to co-founder Lauren Tornetta, they wanted to make sure they offered a good mix of different types of workouts — since, as we said, doing the same workout day-in and day-out isn’t the best way to see results.

“It was important to us to have a balance of cardio and strength offerings focused on a full body (and mind) approach,” says Tornetta. “Spin, box, and TRX are all challenging and physically-intense workouts that can be done to high-energy music meant to inspire and motivate which helps clients release and reset.”

The desire to make the classes high-energy and upbeat really has more to do with giving people a mental boost than a physical one, according to Tornetta. And from what we can tell from this boxing video and this spinning video, they’re definitely making sweating fun.

“Combining spin, box, and TRX helps redefine working out as something that is exhilarating and fun — igniting clients to not only transform how they look but, how they feel inside and outside the studio,” says Tornetta.

We should also mention that your first class is free, so there’s no excuse not to give one of REVive’s classes a whirl. Plus, the studio offers childcare every darn day for just $3 for one child — in the super-cute playroom below — so there’s really no excuse not to swing by. Check out their schedule here to find the best fit for you.

An individual class at REVive is $18; a five-class package goes for $85. REVive is now open at 225 Lancaster Avenue in Frazer.
