UPDATE 6/6/2016, 1:18 p.m.: Due to a rainy forecast, the start date for Bok’s rooftop hip-hop yoga series has been moved to next Tuesday, June 13th. You can sign up here.

ORIGINAL: WAAAHOOOO! It’s that time of year: Time to get your tree pose on — above the trees— on top of South Philly’s Bok building (1901 South 9th Street) for their summer rooftop yoga series. This summer, they’re hosting a pay-what-you-wish bi-monthly hip-hop yoga series, taught by a slew of instructors like Katie Gould, owner of KG Strong in the Bok building, Adriana Adelé of Three Queens Yoga — you might’ve caught her NamaSLAY workshop at this Saturday’s Be Well Philly Boot Camp — and more fabulous local yogis.

So, Tuesdays are the day to get your hip-hop flow on at Bok, and what does today happen to be? Yup, it’s Tuesday — the first day of the whole darn series. Tonight, and two Tuesdays a month through the middle of September, an hour-long, all-levels flow will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the roof. Oh! And there will be hip-hop tunes going the whole time. Can I get a yasss queen?

The standard outdoor-yoga-series rules apply: bring your own water, mat, towel and whatever else need to get your downward-dog on. Also, to ensure your spot, it’s a good idea to register beforehand — you can do that here — because you reeeeeally don’t want to miss this view, my friends. But if you can’t make it to the session tonight, fret not, there’s another on June 27th!

Here’s to a booty-shaking, whole-body-stretching good time.
