Blackbird Pizzeria is to Philly vegans what leggings and Uggs are to college freshmen: a tried-and-true staple. So, dear vegan friends, you’ll be happy to hear that Blackbird is slated to open a second location this spring.

Michael Klein over on philly.com has the scoop: As he reported on Friday, the shop, known for its vegan pizzas, wings and cheesesteaks, will be opening a second outpost at 614 North Second Street in Northern Liberties, slinging the same menu as the Queen Village location. Insert squeals of joy here.

If you’re wondering what you should get, we have some pointers: Erin Jaskiewicz of Philly Vegans tells us the cheese fries, made with a creamy vegan wiz, are not to missed; the Haymaker pizza has been known to win over vegans and non-vegans alike; and their vegan cheesesteak has been named the best in Philly for the past three of four years. So there you have it: A few items to drool over while waiting for them to open their doors.
