Big news, my gym-loving friends: City Fitness’s brand spankin’ new 21,000-square-foot gym on Fishtown’s Frankford Avenue — at 1424-34 Frankford Avenue, to be exact — is gearing up to open verrrrry soon.

Can we get a drumroll, please? The official opening date for the gym is January 1st, 2017. But — and this is a pretty big but if you’ve been itching to get in there — folks who snag pre-sale tickets to the gym will be able to start sweating in the new space on December 20th.

What’s a pre-sale ticket, you ask? Basically, it’s a no-strings-attached 30-day membership for $20. Folks in this group will get access, including access to gym equipment, along with special group fitness classes they’ll be offering during that time, starting December 20th. Then the gym will open up to everyone else, including current City Fitness members (we’re guessing this might ruffle some feathers — just know that if you are already a City Fitness member and want to pay $20 for the pre-sale ticket for 10 days of early access to the Fishtown club, they tell us that technically you could do that), on January 1st.

We told you guys all about what to expect at the gym wayyyy back in January, but a quick refresher: The two-story gym will house your usual strength-training and cardio equipment, along with a functional training area, a group classroom, a patio-like outdoor area with turf (they’ll host outdoor classes there in the warmer months), and a Stripp’d juice bar, which will also be open to the public. You’ll have to wait a bit on the juice, though: They’re aiming to be up and running by mid-January.

Along with filling your gym needs, it also looks like it will be quite the perfect-gym-selfie-light haven, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. If you’re interested in snagging a pre-sale ticket, you can do that here through the 19th.
