Lululemon Is About to Give You Something You Didn’t Know You Needed

Get ready to get your mindful meditation on.

Last week, the American Psychological Association reported that, according to their annual Stress in America survey (which included a question about the election this year), more than half of adults in the U.S., regardless of political party, felt very or somewhat stressed by the election.

Raise your hand if you’re surprised? No one? Okay. So you know what many of us could all use? Some mindful meditation. If you’re thinking, “Uh, yeah, like I’m going to do that myself,” note that you don’t have to.

Here’s why: From October 17th through November 7th, (which just so happens to be the day before Election Day), Lululemon is putting on a nationwide campaign called UnitedSTATE, with the goal of  bringing people together, plain and simple. One part of the campaign is what they’re calling assemblies, events — from yoga to discussions to workshops — that will bring people of all beliefs and background and even political parties to one space. What’s Philly’s assembly? Well, it’s just what we all didn’t know we needed: A free guided mindful meditation session at Independence Lawn next Tuesday, open to anyone and everyone.

See — told you you didn’t have to get your meditation on all alone.

The mindful meditation gathering will be going down at Independence Hall lawn at 5th and Chestnut Streets at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25th and anyone is welcome to join in. The active meditation session will last just 15 minutes (which means you’ll have time to squeeze a mindful meditation session AND a picnic into your lunch break) and will be led by artist and yogi Jean-Jacques Gabriel. (You might remember him from our Be Well Philly Underground event at Lululemon last winter!) You can learn more and RSVP here.
