Completely Vegan Flea Market Coming to University City

Expect vegan waffles, cruelty-free soap, jewelry and more.

Remember the vegan mac and cheese festival that went down at The Rotunda in University City last month? Well, the duo behind that vegan mac fest are back again with a completely vegan pop-up flea market, Philly Vegan Pop Flea, going down at the Rotunda on Sunday, June 26th.

The flea market, being put on by Carlo Giardina and Carmella Lanni of online vegan store V Marks the Shop, will run from 12 to 6 p.m. and entry is free, though tickets are required. When it comes to vendors, they tell us shoppers can expect upward of 25 tables, with everything from food (we hear there are some vegan waffles and acai bowls on the roster!) to jewelry to vegan soap and more.

The idea for the flea market, which they’re hoping to turn into a monthly to-do, is simply to bring vegan folks together and help get to know vegan-friendly businesses in the area. As Lanni says, “One thing we hear when we meet new vegans is that, even in big cities like Philadelphia or New York, a lot of people still feel alone being vegan.” So the vegan pop-up flea market gives you a chance to mingle-with acai bowl-loving, cruelty-free-leather-wearing vegans like yourself.

And the vegan pop-up flea isn’t the only thing the pair has in the works: They’re also planning a vegan chili cook-off (Mmmmmmm) for fall. Insert all the praise-hands emoji here.

You can snag your ticket for the Philly Vegan Pop Flea here. Happy shopping!
