How to Feel Really Good About Your Global Running Day Run Tomorrow

Calling all runners: Global Running Day is tomorrow. And since I’m sure you run, like, every day, here’s one way to make tomorrow’s run super special: Back on My Feet Philadelphia, the local non-profit that helps combat homelessness through running, is putting on their first-ever Treadmill Challenge at the Shops at Liberty Place in Rittenhouse.

Here’s the deal: They’ll have five treadmills set up in the Shops at Liberty Place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow, and they want you to get your run on to support Back on My Feet. The idea is, you register to run, donating for the time you spend sweating ($100 for a half hour or $200 for an hour). If you don’t register beforehand, they’ll also have one treadmill reserved for drop-ins. They’re hoping to raise $10,000 to put six new members through the Back on My Feet program, and you would be helping to make that happen. See what I mean about feeling really good about your Global Running Day run?

If you can’t join in on the Treadmill Challenge, they’ll also be hosting a free three-mile lunchtime community run, led by Suzanne Allaire of the November project. Folks will meet for that run at the Shops at Liberty Place at 11:45 a.m. tomorrow. And get this: The runs ends with free Honeygrow smoothies for the first 100 participants.

Last but not least, if you can’t join in on either of those shindigs, they’ll be hosting a Treadmill Challenge after-party at Howl at the Moon (Tell me: When else do you get to enjoy yourself at Howl at the Moon shame-free?) at 6 p.m. Tickets for that are $7 and get you drink specials and half-priced apps.

You can find more info on all of the above here.
