The Resolution Run: How to Have Fun Making Your New Year’s Resolution

Writing down your New Year’s resolutions alone on New Year’s Day can be kind of depressing. If you’re anything like most of the human population, your list probably starts with “Never drink again,” — because hellooo, New Year’s Day hangover — and ends there. Because again, hellooo, New Year’s Day hangover. So, we say, to make your New Year’s resolution-making more enjoyable (and more productive), wait a few days for all the champagne to work its way out of your system and join Philadelphia Runner and the ODDyssey Half Marathon for their Resolution Run a few days later on January 3rd.

The free run will leave from Philadelphia Runner’s Center City store at 10 a.m. and take you around three miles of town before landing back at the store for a post-run resolution-making party. Everyone who ran will write down their resolutions for 2016, be they big or small, while snacking on treats from Honeygrow. Mmmm. You’ll also be able to sign up for the ODDyssey Half Marathon on-site, a day before registration for the race actually opens. So who knows? Maybe you’ll add “Run 13.1 miles” to your list.

To sweeten the resolution-making pot, they’ll be raffling off prizes from ON Running, along with a free entry to the ODDyssey Half Marathon. You can learn more about the Resolution Run and RSVP on the Facebook event page here. And pssst: If you need some help coming up with the perfect resolution to put on paper (that you will actually keep), we’ve got some tips.
