Your Weekend Workout Playlist: 20 Songs for Everyone Who’s Had a Bad Week

The other day, one of my good friend’s told me she was having the longest, worst week of her life. My response? Go read a really sad book that’s makes your life look like a walk in the park, like Atonement. People die, there’s unrequited love — it has to be worse than your life right now. She agreed. She would go read a sad book.

So, this week’s playlist — for everyone out there who is having a long, terrible week — is made in the same vein: It starts off with songs that will, at worse, commiserate with you, and at best, make you feel like your week hasn’t actually been that bad. I’m talking’ Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball, A$AP Rocky’s I Come Apart, Rihanna’s FourFiveSeconds, and more. Then, it ends with songs that will (hopefully) help lift you out of your funk: Jay Z and Kanye’s Who Gon Stop Me, Kid Cudi’s Pursuit of Happiness, Florence + the Machine’s Shake It Out. Now, I suggest you combine this playlist with a run or a workout and consider it a mini therapy session of sorts.

*We clean out and update this playlist every Friday with a slew of new songs to keep you grooving. Follow it on Spotify so you never miss a beat.
