Everything You Need to Know About the Philly 10K Bibs and Beers Pick-Up Party

It's just two weeks away!

We have a lot of emotions going on right now: On one end, we’re sad the summer has flown by so fast, but on the other, we are oh-so-excited that the Philly 10K is right around the corner. The Philly 10K Bibs and Beers Pick-Up Party — their pre-race party, because as they say, “Expos are lame” — at the Shambles at Headhouse Square is just two weeks away, people! Below, everything you need to know about the beer-filled, food-filled, fun-filled event.

1. Everyone is invited

First off, while the Bibs and Beer Pick-Up Party is the spot where folks who are running the Philly 10K will pick up their bibs and shirts, it isn’t only open to people who are running the race — it’s open to the entire running community. So go get your party on!

2. It’s a two-day shindig

This isn’t your average one-night-only party: The Bibs and Beers Pick-Up Party will run from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 28th and then from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 29th. Lots of time to squeeze in your (responsible) beer-drinking and food-truck-tasting.

3. There will be LOTS of beer and food trucks

Speaking of beer and food trucks, there will be lots of both. Cavanaugh’s Headhouse will be serving up brews from Philadelphia Brewing Company and food trucks lined up for the event include Vernalicious, Robek’s Juice and Smoothie Truck, Taco Mondo, Matt’s Food Truck, Chewy’s and more. So yeah, come hungry and thirsty.

4. There will be an official race store

Oh, along with an appetite, you’re also going to want to bring one of those reusable grocery bags you have 10,000 of because you are going to be leaving the party with some new gear — we’re sure of it. The party will feature an official race store complete tons of sweet gear, including limited edition New Balance goods. Yes, please!

5. There will be a DJ

So don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes. (Or running shoes you can dance in.)

6. We will be running to the party — join us!

Our fourth and final training run for the Philly 10K will be a run from the Philadelphia Runner Center City store to the Bibs and Beers Pick-Up Party on Friday, August 28th. We’ll leave from Philadelphia Runner at 6 p.m. on Friday for an easy two-ish mile run to the party. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us!

7. You can ride Indego straight to the party

If you’re saving your running chops for the big race, hop on an Indego bike and ride it straight to Headhouse Shambles. The lovely folks from Indego will be providing corral service, so you won’t even have to worry about docking it. Sweet, right?

8. If you’re running the race, this party is mandatory

If you’re running the Philly 10K, note: The party is your only chance to pick up your bib and shirt, there won’t be any race-day bib pick-up. So if you’re running, your attendance at this shindig is mandatory. But don’t worry, you’ll have a blast.
