This week’s adoptable running dog Bucky is currently at ACCT waiting for rescue, foster, or adoption. The Monster Milers are hoping to spring him from the shelter and get him into their Adopt a Running Buddy Foster Program, but they’re running low on foster homes at the moment. If you’d like to let this sweet (house-trained) guy crash on your couch for a little while, you can fill out a foster application here. But first, learn more about him below.

Name: Bucky

Age: 3 to 5 years

Weight: 40 pounds

Breed: Terrier mix

Running style: Bucky is one of those dogs that loves being outside so much that he wants to see everything he can while out and about. He zigs and zags while running but his volunteer friends are working on that with him. A Miler recently had him out on a hot, rainy day on a boring course and his tail wagged the whole time — he loved it! He is full of energy and excitement for running and will make you smile even on the toughest of training runs.

Why Bucky is awesome: Bucky is a smart guy who already knows a couple of commands. With his athletic ability and brains, he’ll need someone who can keep him active and they’ll be rewarded for it with cuddles and kisses. He’s already house-trained and dog social. He also loves toys and treats, so the list of commands and tricks he can learn is probably endless.

If you’re interested in adopting Bucky, stop by the ACCT at 111 West Hunting Park Avenue and ask about adopting. Bucky’s record number is A25281852. For more information about the adoption process, visit their website. And for more awww-worthy photos, check out our previous adoptable running dogs here.

……………..

We work with The Monster Milers each and every week to profile local running dogs waiting to be adopted. The Monster Milers are a group of runners who help shelter dogs burn off  energy and get much-needed exercise by taking them on runs around the city, and they also just launched their first-of-it’s-kind Adopt a Running Buddy foster program. If you’re not in the market for a pup right now, but would still love to help out homeless dogs, you can always become a Monster Miler volunteer or foster parent. Find out more about how to get started with those processes here
