The Wall Cycling Studio to Host Rooftop Spin (Yes, Rooftop Spin) This Summer

Before I say this, let it be known: I love me a good spin class. But there’s just something about posting up on a bike for an hour in an indoor — often dark — studio with a bunch of men and women who are sweating their faces off onto the carpet with you that just feels sort of blah, you know?

And that’s why, when Juliet Sabella of Manayunk’s The Wall Cycling Studio let us know the studio would be hosting a rooftop spin (yes, rooftop spin) series this summer, my eyes lit up big time. No offense to all the fellow spin-class takers out there, but a view of something other than someone else’s sweaty, pained face — the sky, at that!— is something I could very much get down with.

Here’s the deal: The rooftop spin series will be held throughout the summer months on the rooftop of Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting (FYI: Yoga Home also hosts rooftop yoga there during the summer). There are three dates set for the series: June 28th, July 19th, August 16th, and a tentative date set for September 13th. On each of those dates, The Wall will host two rooftop classes, one at 7:45 a.m. and one at 8:45 a.m.

The cost to join in is $25 if you register ahead of time and $30 for drop-ins and gets you water, towel service, snacks, a goodie bag and a killer view. Plus, you can go straight from sweat session to getting your Sunday grocery shopping done. Can’t beat that, can you?

You can snag a spot in the rooftop spin series here.
