Sweet! Philly 10K to Have Two-Day Pre-Race Block Party Open to Everyone

Complete with beer, music, and food trucks galore.

You won’t be picking up your Philly 10K bib from a pre-race expo, because as the race’s co-founder Ryan Callahan says, “Race expos are the place where souls go to die.” So, like last year, they’ll be having a big pre-race bash the weekend of the race, delightfully named the Bibs and Beers Pick-Up Party, this time at Headhouse Square.

The two-day party — which will boast beer, a DJ, food trucks, and merchandise (including custom New Balance merch. Ohhhhh!) — will be open to the entire running community. But it’ll be especially fun for Philly 10K runners who will get their hands on their bibs and shirts. (Psst: If you haven’t yet registered, they’ve still, by some force of magic, got about 250 spots left — but they’re going to go fast!)

As Callahan says, the block party will be “where you go to get your bib and shirt but it won’t feel like an expo. It will really feel like a party.” And who doesn’t love a good party?

The extravaganza will run for two days: from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on opening night, August 28th, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 29th. So, mark your calendars, people!
