Well, here’s a workout you can write home about: On May 16th, Manayunk’s Never Give Up Training is planning to try and break the Guinness world record for most people doing sit-ups simultaneously, and they want your help. The current record is a measly 414 people — we can totally beat that, right, guys?

The Never Give Up World Record Challenge, as they’re calling it, will go down at 1 p.m. on May 16th at Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center (7 Lock Street, Manayunk) as a part of the all-day festival PLAY Manayunk. So, after you help break the world record, you’ll have your pick of food trucks to refuel at.

To join in, you just have to be at least 10 years old and be able to do 60 sit-ups. If that’s you, register (it’s free!) here, then head to the Challenge May 16th. And if you don’t quite fit the bill but still want to join in, they need cheerleaders, too!
