Get ready to let out a long “awwwww”: Massage therapist and yoga instructor Daniel Cordua, who teaches at studios all around the city, and his girlfriend, designer and jewelry maker Rachel Robles, are weaving their passions together to open Palo Santo Wellness Boutique, a yoga studio-meets wellness center-meets boutique mashup. And this is where the “awwwww” part comes in: The space, located at 1707 East Passyunk Avenue, is right across the street from the restaurant where the couple had their very first date. See? Awwwww.

So, what can you expect to find a Palo Santo Wellness Boutique? Well, as Cordua explained in an email, Palo Santo Wellness Boutique will be “a wellness sanctuary. A space to help guide your personal journey of mind, body and spirit … The space itself is being completely handcrafted by Rachel and I — it will feel singularly magical, warming and healing.”

In more concrete terms, you can expect a slew of small group classes including Vinyasa, yoga for beginners, prenatal yoga, yoga for the 50-and-over set, yoga for kids, Pilates fusion, calisthenics, tai chi, meditation, and more. They’ll also offer therapeutic bodywork like massage and Reiki, and they’re planning on having an in-house acupuncturist, health coach and Ayurvedic lifestyle coach. The boutique will offer handmade jewelry, home goods, incense, plants and more.

Palo Santo Wellness Boutique will open its doors with a grand-opening party on Friday, April 10th from 7 to 9 p.m. They’ll keep the festivities going through Saturday, April 11th, when they’ll have a donation-only yoga class benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, free chair massages, and henna and tarot card readings throughout the day.

To get a taste of what’s to come, check out Palo Santo Wellness Boutique on Facebook and Instagram. And while you’re at it, check out Robles’ jewelry, which she’ll be slinging at the boutique, here.
