Free Yoga, Free Boot Camp — And More Fit Things to Do This Weekend in Philly

Making plans for the weekend? Don’t schedule a thing until you see what’s going on in the fitness world. From free yoga and boot camp to Whole Foods beauty school (really!), there’s plenty to add to your calendar. 

1. Free Yoga for the Spring Equinox at Bombay Yoga Company
When: Friday, March 20th at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Where: 756 South 11th Street, Bella Vista.

This brand-spanking-new yoga studio (it just opened last week) is celebrating the spring equinox with two free yoga classes. At both sessions, you’ll complete 108 sun salutations. Registration is required.

2. Free Outdoor Boot Camp with Core Fitness
When: Saturday, March 21st at 9 a.m.
Where: Art Museum Steps.

Core Fitness is kicking off its spring outdoor boot camp series this weekend, with a free session to get you amped. The class meets on the bottom lefthand side of the Art Museum stairs. Email gina@core-fit.com for more info.

3. Beauty School at Whole Foods Market
When: Friday, March 20th at 9:30 a.m., and Sunday, March 22nd at 3:30 p.m.
Where: Whole Foods South Street on Friday, and Whole Foods Callowhill on Sunday.

Our pal and Eat Pretty skin guru Jolene Hart is hosting two free beauty events at Philly’s Whole Foods stores this weekend. She’s teaming up with registered dietician Lindsey Kane to share tips on spring ingredients that will help you detox your skin and body, and how to incorporate them into easy recipes. Space is limited so be sure to RSVP.

4. Group Trail Run with Philadelphia Runner Manayunk
When: Sunday, March 22nd at 9 a.m.
Where: 4358 Main Street, Manayunk.

If you’ve yet to check out Philadelphia Runner’s newest digs in Manayunk, make this the weekend to do it: On Sunday, they’re hosting a six- to 10-mile group trail run that’s sure to be a total blast. Meet at the shop.

5. Feel Good Friday Night Flow at DIG Yoga Philly
When: Friday, March 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: 410 Monroe Street, Queen Village.

This all-levels alignment-based vinyasa flow class combines sequences and fun music to get you grooving for the weekend. Instructor Nikki Robinson will lead. It’s $25 to participate.

6. Detox Vinyasa Flow and Juicing Workshop at Priya Hot Yoga
When: Saturday, March 21st from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Where: 1828 Callowhill Street, Fairmount.

After you complete a detoxifying yoga class, stick around for juicing workshop. You’ll sample different mixes and learn how to make fresh-pressed juices yourself. Participants will leave with recipes to try at home. It’s $40 to participate.
