If you’ve ever seen the ABC obstacle-course show Wipeout and thought to yourself, “I could totally do that,” here’s your chance to prove it: The Wipeout Run is coming to our area this summer with 12 obstacle challenges meant to cause, well, complete and total wipe outs.

The for-fun 5K run, which is inspired by the game show and features some of the same obstacles, will hit Wilmington’s Frawley Stadium — you know, where the Blue Rocks play — on Saturday, June 13th. Obstacles challenges include a foam Slip ‘N Slide, rope bridge, super-size moon bounce, and something called the Wrecking Balls, which is essentially a dash across a rolling bridge, over water, while you dodge giant red wrecking balls.

The run is untimed and open to participants 18 and up. Competitor waves begin at 7:30 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m. Runners get a t-shirt, participant’s bib, wristband, temporary tattoo, and bag check. Right now, entry is $60 through March 19th, and tiers from there to $85 on race day.
