1. Phrosty 5K
When: Saturday, December 20th at 8 a.m.
Where: Cedars House Cafe on Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon.

New Chestnut Hill-area Facebook group iRunTheHill is hosting the first annual Phrosty 5K this weekend, a festive fun run in the Wissahickon. They’ll be handing out jingle bells for runners to tie to their sneakers, but you’re encouraged to get even more festively attired; a prize will be given to the most holiday-rific outfit. Cedars House will be handing out hot cocoa and oatmeal cookies after the run. It’s free to participate but you can RSVP here (under the Events tab).

2. Holiday Toy Drive Run
When: Saturday, December 20th at 10 a.m.
Where: Meet at Philadelphia Runner, 1601 Sansom Street, Center City.

This second annual run starts at PR’s Center City store and heads to the Ronald McDonald House in University City. Runners are asked to bring gift cards loaded with $25 (or more). You’ll run as a group to the Ronald McDonald House, drop off the gift cards, and run back; doughnuts and apple cider will await you at the end. It’s just under four miles round trip. For a full list of needed gift cards, go here.

3. Holiday Family Light Ride
When: Saturday, December 20th at 4:30 p.m.
Where: Meet at Dickinson Square at 4th and Tasker.

This is the family-friendly version of the Holiday Lights Ride happening tonight. On Saturday evening, families will meet at Dickinson Square and head out for a tour of South Philly’s holiday lights. The ride ends at Columbus Square (12th and Wharton). Riders need to have bike lights, and you’re encouraged to decorate your ride with holiday lights and festive decorations. (Pssst! Rumor has it Santa will be there, too.) It’s free, but you can RSVP here.

4. Solstice Yoga and Holiday Party
When: Saturday, December 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: DIG Yoga, 410 Monroe Street, Queen Village.

Celebrate the winter solstice and the holiday season with a special two-hour yoga class this weekend. DIG Philly co-owner Mariel Freeman will lead the class, and DJ SYLO will spin live tunes. After class, you’re invited to stick around and hang out as Stripp’d Juice shares juice samples (there will also be bottles for purchase) and DIG hosts a raffle for holiday gifts. $25; sign up here.

5. Ugly Sweater Run
When: Saturday, December 20th at 8 a.m.
Where: Running Co. of Medford, 62 South Main Street, Medford.

Did you know Running Companies of South Jersey just opened a new shop in Medford? On Saturday, they’ll be leading an Ugly Sweater group fun run, with three different distances—tentatively: three, five and seven-mile loops—to accommodate various running levels. Brooks Running will provide giveaways.
