Believe It or Not: Registration for Wildwood Half Marathon Now Open

The Wild Half Marathon

The Wild Half Marathon

I know. I choked on my lunch, too, when I received a press release announcing that registration for the 2015 Wild Half, a 13.1-mile race in Wildwood, New Jersey, is officially open. It’s not that they’re necessarily jumping the gun or anything; it’s just that thinking about running a half marathon in warm May weather is, like, 100-percent not on my radar right now.

But if you can picture it and you want to partake in the May 17th race, it behooves you to register early, as early birds, of course, get the best deals. Registration for the half marathon is currently set at $80; it jumps to $90 on December 31st. There are also 8K and 5K distances. Registration for the 8K is currently $40 and the 5K $30; both races increase by $5 on New Year’s Eve, as well. There will be further price increases as race a day approaches, eventually topping out at $110 for the half, $55 for the 8K and $45 for the 5K.

Registrants for any of the races get free entry to Morey’s Piers on race weekend. You also get a race medal, shirt and more. And to further incentivize you to register early, those who sign up before November 30th will also get a free Morey’s wristband for unlimited rides for a friend or family member. You know, so you don’t have to ride the log flume and ferris wheel alone. Womp womp.

More info and registration are happening over here.
