This week’s running dog is ready to play, y’all. Her name is Sadie, she’s currently at the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, and she would absolutely love for you to take her home (hint, hint). Read all about this happy, playful pup below.

Name: Sadie

Location: PAWS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic in Gray’s Ferry

Breed: Pit bull-terrier mix

Age: 6 months to 1 year

Weight: 34 pounds

Running style: Sadie recovered fully from a case of mange thanks to the care of the shelter veterinarians at PAWS! Sadie has medium energy and medium drive, loves to play and is a fast learner! Sadie’s enthusiasm and eagerness to please will help push you along in your tempo runs and your long, steady runs alike! Her crowd-stopping good looks and nice personality will turn your water breaks into parties as well.

Why Sadie is awesome: Found as a stray, Sadie has quickly become a Monster Milers volunteer favorite. She is as sweet, soft and gentle on the inside as she is on the outside. She has a friendly but easygoing way with both dogs and people, great looks and great stamina! Sadie is a young dog who we’d expect to quickly learn to thrive in a downtown or suburban home alike.

If you are interested in meeting Sadie, email dogs@phillypaws.org for an application or contact the adoptions staff at 215-298-9680, ext. 16. You can find out more about Sadie (and other adoptable animals) here.

……………..

We work with The Monster Milers each and every week to profile local running dogs waiting to be adopted. The Monster Milers are a group of runners who help shelter dogs burn off  energy and get much-needed exercise by taking them on runs around the city, and they also just launched their first-of-it’s-kind Adopt a Running Buddy foster program. If you’re not in the market for a pup right now, but would still love to help out homeless dogs, you can always become a Monster Miler volunteer or foster parent. Find out more about how to get started with those processes here
