Welcome to our new Monday feature, the #BWPSelfie of the Week! Read about why we’re celebrating selfies—and the sweaty Philadelphians who take them—below.
Name: Christine C. Casady
Day job: IT for Villanova University
Where she snapped this: Wildwood Crest
What she was doing: Crow position—goofing around after beach yoga class.
Number of years she’s been doing yoga: Four.
Her favorite yoga pose: I love all of them. From the ones that take effort and struggle, to the ones that flow easy and I find peace in. They all serve their purpose. The best are the ones that I struggle with for a long time then all of the sudden one day, boom! I did it!
Where she likes to do yoga in Philly: I jump around. I go to power yoga weekly at my gym, Sweat Fitness in Conshy, taught by Kelly Pedrotty-Stump. And I frequent several community yoga classes such as ones hosted by Lululemon or taught by Malik on Race Street Pier.
How she stays motivated to sweat: Training and people. I’m almost always training for something. Having a race keeps me goal oriented. Then there are the people; fellow sweat enthusiasts who stay active by my side!
Editor’s note: The #BWPSelfie of the Week is our way to give a virtual high-five to Be Wellers who are sweating up a storm, making deliciously healthy meals, trying new adventures, and having all kinds of fun in and around Philly. So we want you to send us your healthiest, happiest selfies—tag ’em #BWPSelfie on Instagram and Twitter, or email them—and we could feature you in an upcoming edition.
