I know it’s sad to think about, but before we know it, August will be here and summer will be over. Combat those end-of-summer blues with a (non-crowded!) half marathon promising gorgeous views.

The Perk Up Half Marathon will take you through 13.1 miles of country roads, rolling hills, and gorgeous scenery in the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Plus, it’s for a good cause: All proceeds will go to the National Hemophilia Foundation’s Eastern Pennsylvania chapter, helping kids and families in the Philly area with bleeding disorders.

The race, which fetched about 500 runners last year, will take place on August 24th at the Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, about an hour’s drive from Philly. The start time is 8 a.m. The day before, on August 23rd, Perk Up is holding a running expo in the school’s Hollenbach Athletic Center, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can pick up your race day packet and register at the expo, as well. Go to Perk Up’s website for more info and to register.
