If the idea of getting blasted in the face with colored powder while running a 5K appeals to you, listen up: The Color Run is coming back to Philly this summer on July 19th. The date was just announced, along with a special before-the-masses registration date for Color Runners on a special VIP list.

This year, the race will be held down at the sport complexes. Runners will pass four color stations—blue, red, yellow and purple—where they will be dusted with airborne colored powder. At the finish line, runners also typically explode one last color packet all at once, for a final blasting. The result: a swarm of people who look like they just wrestled with a rainbow. And lost.

VIP registration opens on May 20th, five days before general registration. Organizers are also promising VIPs that "an amazing deal is headed your way," so get on the VIP list of you want early access. Sign up for it here.

General registration opens on May 25th. Get more info on the race here, and see our photos from last year's Color Run here.
