Free Outdoor Yoga at Race Street Pier Starts April 5th

The sun has officially broken through, my friends, and spring is upon us. And that means all kinds of fun outdoor fitness options are just around the corner, starting with free outdoor yoga at Race Street Pier, which returns next month.

{Check out the free yoga coming to the Schuylkill Banks this spring, too!}

If you can remember waaaay back to summer 2013, you’ll recall that the freebie classes were only offered on Sundays. This year, they’ve seriously ramped up the yoga offerings with six free classes a week: A yoga class will happen every day, except Wednesday, starting April 5th. The weekend classes begin at 9:30 a.m. (Note: People start gathering around 9, but yoga doesn’t start until 9:30 or so); the Monday, Tuesday and Friday classes at 7 a.m.; and the Thursday class at 6 p.m. Instructors from Dhyana Yoga will teach once again, with the bulk of the classes helmed by the awesome Malik Wilson.

No need to sign up in advance. Just bring your own mat and get ready to sweat.

UPDATE 4/15: A Facebook group has been created for this yoga event so you can stay on top of announcements, time and location changes (the class moves indoors in the case of inclement weather!). Join the group to stay up to date.
