Broad Streeters: Turn Your Body Over to Science, Win Prizes

Team Philly, a local race-training group, has teamed up with Temple’s Sport Industry Research Center to conduct a study on a 10-week training program for the Broad Street Run.

From a press release:

The research project provides a great opportunity for you to assess your cardiovascular health, aerobic fitness and well-being. The longitudinal study will examine four health-related measures, (1) step test; (2) one mile timed run; (3) Body Mass Index (4) Blood pressure & resting heart rate. In addition, this research will collect information on various attitudes and behaviors related to running and other aspects of life.

They’re looking for runners of all ability levels, and those who complete the program and the study will be entered into a drawing to win prizes, like an iPad Air and Philadelphia Runner gift cards. Further details about the study will be unveiled at Team Philly’s BSR training kick-off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 1st, at Philadelphia Runner’s University City location.
