Brent Celek Loves Pure Barre and Yoga. Surprised?

Brent Celek scores in the first quarter.

You’ve seen him dominate on the field, sure, but here’s one place you probably wouldn’t expect to find Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek: at a Pure Barre class.

Celek 'fessed up to his love of yoga and Pure Barre, a workout that combines moves from yoga and Pilates with light weights and time at the ballet barre, in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal. If you're wondering why he's hooked on a ballet-based workout, here's your answer: During the off-season, Celek likes to focus on flexibility and functional movement. And what better arena to harness those skills than a Pure Barre class?

Plus, he gets to squeeze in some quality family-time: As he told the Journal, "Sometimes I go with my mom and sister." Now, if that mental image doesn't make you go, "Awwwww," I don't know what will.

If you want to try the workout for yourself (or, you know, go stalk some local classes until you spot Celek with your own two eyes), we've got three Pure Barre studios in our area: Center City, Wayne and Haddonfield. Addresses are here.
