What to Eat This Week: February 10th-14th

Good news, friends: Happy meals aren’t just for kids. A few months ago, we featured a video created by the folks over at POPSUGAR Fitness, singing the praises of mood-boosting foods like avocado, salmon, nuts, leafy greens, egg yolks and more. Now, it’s not news that these dinner-time staples are good for you. But what you might not know is that these foods are basically Mother Nature’s happy pills: They’re loaded with brain-protecting omega-3 fatty acids, along with Vitamin D, B-12 and folate, which help to regulate mood disorders and prevent depression.

Now, I don’t know about you, but Punxsutawney Phil’s recent predictions of a long, merciless winter made me want to crawl under the covers and stay there. Forever. Or at least until, like, June. And I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this sentiment. If you’ve got some S.A.D. going on, then these delicious, healthy happy meals are just what the doctor ordered. And if you’re a winter-loving snow-bunny (I will never understand your kind, by the way) these meals are sure to rock your world, too.
