The sap-factor during the month of February is on another level of ridiculous: hearts galore, photos of Valentine’s Day flowers clogging Instagram feeds everywhere, and don’t even get me started on the cable movie options. But here’s a love-themed event which, despite it’s totally sappy name, doesn’t make me cringe. It’s a Valentine’s-month miracle!
On February 8th, Bryn Mawr Running Company is hosting the eighth annual Feel the Love 5K at the Navy Yard. The race is a couples run, but not in the usual sense of the word: You can couple up with your mom, your BFF, or your significant other. Couples run the course in opposite directions, passing each other a few times throughout the race. In the end, pairs are scored based on their combined finish times. Talk about motivation, huh? You can’t slack off because, if you do, your partner will be pissed.

$30 before February 6th; February 8th at 3:30 p.m., The Navy Yard, 13th Street and Intrepid Avenue, Philadelphia.
