Lithe Method’s New Rittenhouse Studio Will Open Much Earlier Than Expected

Well, this almost never happens: Lithe Method’s new (and bigger!) Rittenhouse Square studio is set to open on January 13th. That’s a full month ahead of schedule, y’all.

As we reported last summer, the studio is moving from the fourth to the second floor of the Medical Tower building at 255 South 17th Street, into the former home of Rescue Rittenhouse spa. (Here’s a looksie at Rescue’s new space at 16th and Walnut, if you’re interested.) Lithe’s construction fairies have been hard at work for the past five months transforming the spa space into a huge new fitness studio with, I’m told, amenities galore.

Lithe’s director of operations Melissa Weinberg says that while the January 13th debut will technically be a “soft” opening, leaving time for staffers to finesse a few finishing touches over the following few weeks, the new space will be open for classes starting that day. As promised, Lithers can expect bigger digs and better amenities, like steam showers. The hope is that the extra space will eliminate the need for waiting lists for Lithe’s popular cardio-cheer-sculpting classes.

“We will be able to accommodate up to 50 people per hour with the two mat rooms in this new space,” Weinberg told me in an email. “We wanted to open as soon as possible and get people in for the new year without wait lists!”

Amen to that.
