Schuylkill River Trail Named Among Best Urban Bike Paths in the U.S.

Let’s take a moment to toot our own horn as we celebrate the Schuylkill River Trail being named among the 19 best urban bike paths in the U.S. by the Active Times, a list that was then re-pub’d in USA Today. Here’s what they have to say about our bustling stretch of concrete:

Called the best bike path in Philly by Philadelphia Weekly, the 23-mile Schuylkill River Trail is a boon to commuters entering the city from Montgomery County, residents looking for a scenic shortcut through parts of downtown, and recreational cyclists making a weekend escape. The path winds unbroken, except for two short segments, all the way to Valley Forge National Historical Park.

I’d like to point out for the record that we also gave the Schuylkill due accolades in last year’s print issue of Be Well Philly; it won our Readers’ Pick category for best walk/run/bike trail. But no matter! We’re just happy to see that fit folks from other areas love our path, too.
