To Do: Young Involved Philadelphia’s New Running Club

Behold, your chance to be young, athletic and meet cool folks in Philly!

I gotta say, it’s pretty neat that there’s a nonprofit named Young Involved Philadelphia that “strives to make Philadelphia the premier city for the next generation of leaders.” As a youngin’ in Philly myself, I’m all for it!

As part o its mission to bring together the best and brightest young things in City of Brotherly Love, YIP is launching a monthly running club on July 16th. The plan is to meet one Tuesday each month in front of Philadelphia Runner, run a few miles to a noteworthy or historic destination, and end at a bar for drinks and networking. Talk about multi-tasking.

The inaugural run, which will start at 6 p.m., ends at Race Street Pier, where you can get a tour of the park nestled below the Ben Franklin Bridge. The after-run bar hasn’t been determined yet (Morgan’s Pier! Morgan’s Pier!), but the folks at Philadelphia Runner say they are willing to pitch in for a few rounds this time, so cheers! Get more info here on Facebook.

FREE, July 16th at 6 p.m., Philadelphia Runner, 1601 Sansom Street, Philadelphia.
