To Do: Philadelphia Zombie Run

Philadelphia has been overrun with the walking dead, and running is your only option.

It’s really happening, ya’ll: a zombie apocalypse is breaking out across America, and Philadelphia is the first city to be infected by the mysterious and lethal chemical C-894 (lucky us!). For whatever reason, the only way to survive humankind’s destruction is to sign up for a 3.1-mile run around FDR Park on April 7th. I give you: the Philadelphia Zombie Run, realest, fakest themed 5K out there.

You can participate as a runner, zombie or race volunteer. The intricate course is designed to replicate a zombie movie set, and there will be a quarantine survivor party (featuring a local DJ, food trucks and photo stations) after you cross the finish line. Learn more about the zombie apocalypse-inspired balloon game that runners can play during their run—and register!—here.

$45 until January 27th, $50 after; race day is April 7th at 8:00 a.m.; FDR Park, 1500 Pattinson Avenue, Philadelphia.
