Do You Want to Be a Be Well Blogger?

We're looking for someone to write a weight-loss diary. You, perhaps?

We just love a great weight-loss story. That’s why we’re looking for a local who’s itching to shed some serious pounds and is willing to blog about the process right here on Be Well Philly.

Interested? Here’s who we’re looking for: Someone funny. Someone relatable. Someone engaging. Someone with personality, who can translate that personality into words—preferably funny ones.

Every weight-loss journey has its ups and downs, and you have to be okay with that. Our blogger should be able to laugh—but learn from—his or her mistakes. You need to have a goal from the get-go—we love goals—and some means for achieving it. And of course, you have to be willing to share your story with the world.

Logistically, we need someone lives in the Philly area, which includes the neighboring ‘burbs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. And, obviously, you have to have some weight to lose, and be committed to trying to take it off.

To be clear, this isn’t a paid position, and we can’t offer you any extra tools like gym memberships or trainer sessions to help you lose weight. This is your journey. We’re here to be your cheerleaders—and we’re betting your fellow Be Well Philly readers will cheer you on to the last pound, too.

Email our health editor Emily Leaman at eleaman@phillymag.com if you’re interested in putting your name in the hat. And send along a sample post (no more than 600 words), so we can get a feel for your writing and personality. A picture’s a must, too.
