Run: The 9/11 Heroes 5K

As we approach the 10th anniversary of 9/11, consider paying homage to the servicemen who lost their lives by running the 9/11 Heroes Run, a 5K sponsored by the Travis Manion Foundation. Travis, an alum of La Salle College High School, was killed by enemy fire as a Marine serving in Iraq. His parents established the foundation in part to aid wounded and disabled veterans and to provide grief seminars for families of fallen soldiers. Through the Heroes Run, they aim to “honor the fallen by challenging the living.” The event will take place in Fairmount Park and hopes to raise $5,000 for the Foundation’s programs.
